Xian Kostyrko is a graduate of UBC’s Master of Public Policy and Global Affairs program and emerging policy professional with experience in Canada’s Asia and Indigenous policy spheres. A member of the Canada-China Forum, he engaged Global Affairs Canada on enhancing Indigenous voices in Canadian foreign policy and undertaken research on South, Southeast, and Northeast Asia. He completed a capstone policy project with the Canada-ASEAN Business Council, developing concrete recommendations on agricultural trade. As a Māori-Canadian, Xian’s work bridges Indigenous diplomacy, Asia-Pacific strategy, and pragmatic trade policy, bringing these rarely combined perspectives to applied strategy.
