Freelance journalist

Susan Korah is an award-winning freelance journalist based in Ottawa. She has a master’s degree in journalism from Carleton University, where she wrote a thesis on creating gender equity in Canadian newsrooms. She writes on international relations and has a special interest in the Middle East, East Asia and Latin America. She focuses on human rights, including democratic rights and freedom of expression. On her frequent travels around the world, she occasionally writes travel pieces highlighting the history and culture of various destinations. Her political and travel articles have appeared in the Ottawa Citizen, the Hill Times, Convivium Magazine, New Canadian Media, the Toronto Star, Hong Kong Free Press, Taipei Times and Taste and Travel International. She serves on the board of directors of World Press Freedom Canada, which promotes press freedom in Canada and around the world.
