Karim Zidan is an investigative reporter for Right Wing Watch, as well as a columnist and feature writer for The Guardian and BloodyElbow.com. His reporting has also been featured in Foreign Policy, Deadspin, ESPN, The American Prospect, openDemocracy and Vocativ. His reporting on Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov was spotlighted in an HBO documentary in 2017. Beyond his journalistic endeavours, Zidan is a creative writer who has written numerous short stories set in Egypt. His stories range from magical realism to experimental prose and have appeared in literary journals such as Rusted Radishes and BULL Men’s Fiction. Karim is an Arabic-English translator who has translated short stories by the likes of Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz and Sahar El Mougy. His work has appeared in ArabLit Quarterly.
