John Campbell teaches in the Department of Anthropology & Sociology at the School of Oriental & African Studies, London. He has lived, worked and written about African development, refugees, urban life and more recently about the tens of thousands of Ethiopians who were deported from Ethiopia during its 1998-2000 war with Eritrea, many of whom fled to The West to seek asylum.
