Former prime minister of Canada

The Right Honourable Joe Clark has served as Canada's Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Minister of Constitutional Affairs, and in several other senior leadership positions. He was elected eight times to the federal House of Commons and was the first and only Alberta native to ever serve as Prime Minister of Canada. Mr. Clark has long-standing personal and professional interests in Africa, having served as the Chairman of the Commonwealth Committee of Foreign Ministers on Southern Africa, which was instrumental in mounting global pressure to end apartheid in South Africa. He has served on the Boards of several Canadian and international NGOs and companies, and is the President of Joe Clark & Associates Limited, an international consulting company; and co-founder of Clark Sustainable Resources Developments, which recently joined forces with Triton Logging Inc. (www.tritonlogging.com) to harvest underwater forests around the world. Mr. Clark is currently Vice-Chairman of the Global Leadership Foundation, a member of the Inter-American Dialogue, and Professor of Practice for Public-Private Sector Partnerships in the Institute for the Study of International Development, McGill University. He is a Companion of the Order of Canada and a member of the Alberta Order of Excellence.
