Jennifer spent seven years on Parliament Hill with the NDP working on foreign affairs and international development, where she led work on files including: arms exports; disarmament; sanctions; aid; consular affairs; and the women, peace & security agenda. She has worked for non-governmental organizations in humanitarian affairs, conflict resolution and peacebuilding. She co-edited a major academic volume on gender and war (Elgar, 2016). Her research on arms exports is featured in Justin Trudeau and Canadian Foreign Policy: Canada Among Nations 2017 and the upcoming Middle Power in the Middle East: Canada’s Foreign and Defence Policies in a Changing Region (University of Toronto Press, forthcoming). Jennifer holds a PhD in International Relations from Aberystwyth University in Wales.
