Andy Hira is Professor and former Chair of Political Science at Simon Fraser University. Andy is the Director of the Clean Energy Research Group, which offers monthly public hybrid research talks, produces a policy paper series, and offers consultation to the media and communities around climate change and the green transition. Andy’s background in international development, global political economy, economic competitiveness, in addition to his work on clean energy and the circular economy. Andy was a former Visiting Scholar at Global Affairs Canada and at the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature in Kyoto. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, and is a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Developing Societies. He is part of a large scientific team to work on ways to improve Canadian biodiversity through a grant from Genome BC.
