Adam McCauley is a Canadian journalist and academic based in London. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Oxford, where he is completing his PhD in International Relations. His research explores how insurgent group leadership impacts the outcomes of civil war. He also writes about the future of media and technology and their influence on contemporary politics. His previous work has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time Magazine, Al Jazeera, and The New Yorker.
