Andrew Cohen is journalist, author and associate professor of journalism at Carleton University. In a career of 40 years he has worked in Ottawa, Toronto, London, Berlin and Washington, where he was political correspondent for The Globe and Mail. He has written for The New York TimesUnited Press InternationalTimeCNN.comand Foreign Affairs, among other publications

His seven books include a best-selling critique of Canadian foreign policy — While Canada Slept: How We Lost Our Place in the World — which was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Non-FictionHis latest book is Two Days in June: John F. Kennedy’s 48 Hours That Made HistoryCohen has won two National Newspaper Awardsthree National Magazine Awards and twice been awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. He writes a column for The Ottawa Citizensyndicated in Postmedia News, and he is a commentator on CTV News Channel. In 2016-2017, he was a Fulbright Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Centre for International Scholars in Washington.
